Panasonic EM-2800A Shotgun Boom Microphone | Professional Audio

Description

The Panasonic EM-2800A is a directional shotgun microphone designed for filmmakers, journalists, content creators and video production professionals who need focused audio capture. Its electret condenser design provides high sensitivity and helps deliver clear, natural vocals with low distortion. The microphone features dual pickup modes for flexible recording. Normal mode is suitable for closer sound sources, while Tele mode provides more focused pickup for capturing audio from a greater distance. This makes the microphone practical for interviews, filmmaking, video production and outdoor recording. Its super unidirectional pickup pattern helps isolate the main subject by reducing sound arriving from the sides and rear. As a result, the EM-2800A can help produce cleaner voice recordings in environments where unwanted background noise may be present. The microphone operates using a single AA battery, providing a convenient power solution without requiring external phantom power. This makes it useful for mobile production setups where simple and reliable operation is important. Weighing approximately 141g, the lightweight design is easy to handle during extended recording sessions. It can be mounted on suitable boom poles, camera hot shoes or microphone stands depending on your production setup. The EM-2800A uses a standard XLR connector and may be supplied with a 3.5mm adapter, allowing connection to compatible cameras, camcorders and digital recording equipment. With directional pickup, flexible recording modes and portable battery operation, it is a practical microphone for video, interviews, presentations and field recording.
