How to buy and sell safely, especially when you arrange a deal directly.
Buying
- Pay through Nairobi Square checkout to be covered by Buyer Protection.
- Deals arranged outside checkout are not covered. If you arrange one, inspect the item before paying and meet at the seller’s shop or a busy public place.
- Never send deposits or “booking fees” to numbers you cannot verify.
- Be careful with prices that look too good to be true, and with sellers who push you to pay outside Nairobi Square.
- Report suspicious sellers, listings or messages with the Report button.
Selling
- Nairobi Square never asks for your password, PIN or M-Pesa codes.
- Changes to your payout account are always confirmed with a code sent to your phone. If you get one you did not request, contact us immediately.
- Only mark an order as delivered when the buyer has it.
